What We Believe

Early Childhood Education

Children have a right to a high-quality early childhood education.

A promising academic, professional, and personal future for a child requires a solid literacy base at a young age. RYHT believes that providing high‐quality, full-day pre-kindergarten is one of the best educational strategies for children, families, and Texas. Investment in the early years improves student achievement, reduces the dropout rate and its associated costs to society, and enhances parental workforce participation.

Children have a right to a state where engaged citizens cooperatively invest in their educational success.

RYHT was founded on the belief that excellent education for all begins with a powerful grassroots movement. Passionate, informed, and active community members can transform the landscape of public education. RYHT is committed to informing citizens of Texas about ways to champion and advocate on behalf of our public schools.

RYHT believes that children come first. To create an environment in which children are able to achieve their dreams, adults must be held accountable to high student achievement. Human capital is vital to the process of improving student achievement. RYHT invests in various partnerships to strengthen the professional corps of school leaders across the state.

College and Career Readiness

Children have a right to an education that prepares them for college and career.

RYHT believes in creating multiple pathways to graduation that engage students and prepare them to be college and career ready for the 21st century. Students should be encouraged to pursue the most rigorous courses that align with their long-term goals, whether that is in higher education or the workforce.
