Accountability
Public school accountability systems aim to ensure all students are meeting agreed-upon standards and that public tax dollars are spent wisely. They signal that all students regardless of family demographics or geography, are expected to achieve and be successful in school. An accountability system should:
- Focus on individual student achievement.
- Educate students to a post-secondary readiness standard.
- Promote the efficient use of resources.
- Recognize excellence on individual campuses.
- Provide robust, meaningful, and relevant reports of student, campus, and district performance.
