Raise Your Hand Texas helps develop talented educators into transformational school leaders by partnering with New Leaders.

New Leaders is a national nonprofit that collaborates with districts, charter management organizations, and states to foster the conditions that enable highly effective school leaders to drive student results.

New Leaders offers a three-year leadership curriculum:

  • The Emerging Leaders Program provides leadership development to talented teachers and other instructional leaders, starting them on the pathway to principalship. At the end of the program, participants will be ready to succeed in a variety of leadership roles within their school, district or charter management organization.
  • The Aspiring Principals Program combines a strong academic foundation with a year-long residency in a high-need public school where participants learn about key competencies of transformational principals.
  • In the Principal Institute, first-year K-8, and first- and second-year high school New Leader principals participate in a professional learning community that provides substantial professional development and support in the early years of work.
