Job Title: Producer/Designer
Department: Marketing (marketing, creative, PR, digital)
Location: Austin, TX
Reports to: Vice President of Marketing


Raise Your Hand Texas, a non-profit, non-partisan public education advocacy organization, seeks a hybrid producer/designer to collaborate in the creation, curation, and editing of compelling multimedia storytelling (video, photography, graphic design, animation) designed to advance the impact of our research, innovative programs, data-driven legislative advocacy, and messaging on all fronts.

The perfect candidate will be part short video/documentary filmmaker, part print and digital designer, and part animator. This person must be comfortable serving in a strategic creative direction role and picking up a camera and shooting on the fly.

Role and Responsibilities


  • Partner with fellow digital producer and marketing team to research, source, and develop concepts for corporate program materials and narrative storytelling
  • Plan, shoot and edit original content for online, media, social media, and presentation purposes
  • Edit new and existing footage
  • Work with marketing team to develop editorial calendar

Graphic Design

  • Partner with visual design strategist to create concepts, layouts and designs for program materials, website, blog, social media presences, public policy issue papers, print and digital advertising, event materials, presentations, and signage
  • Design infographics to support multimedia content marketing strategies
  • Create animated videos to explain organization’s work and policy positions
  • Create email newsletter designs and layout
  • Help maintain creative asset management system
  • Serve as liaison to printing/production vendors to ensure materials are delivered and arrive in appropriate formats, on time, and according to the quality specifications



  • Excellent visual production/design skills and technical production and editing craftsmanship
  • Must have experience shooting with a video camera or digital camera
  • Must have print and digital design and production experience
  • Must be comfortable developing story concepts and finding and interviewing story subjects
  • Must have advanced skills in editing software, including Adobe After Effects, Premier Pro, and/or any other pertinent video editing software
  • Advanced skills in design software required – some of these may include Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and PowerPoint
  • Digital animation capabilities preferred.
  • Proficiency with WordPress layout, design, UX/UI desired
  • Knowledge of printing processes, including pre-press protocols
  • Solid project management skills
  • This job requires regular travel across Texas to capture video and photography content


  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in graphic design, visual/media arts, video production, or related field from 4-year college or university; 3-5 years experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience at a public relations, advertising, or marketing agency, a non-profit or education organization, in-house corporate creative or video department, video production company, news outlet, or broadcast organization required.
  • Video portfolio of material required.
