Summary

The Research Fellow is responsible for conducting research on topics related to improving education in Texas. The Research Fellow will also contribute to the organization’s strategy by conducting regular literature reviews to maintain expertise in the latest education research.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Provide staff with support in research and analysis of various topics related to K-12 education as requested. Topics may include: federal K-12 policy, teacher Preparation, pre-K, school funding and governance.
  • Conduct regular literature reviews and present findings to the team.
  • Collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Provide support on ongoing short- and long-term research projects.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate degree or current graduate student in an education-related field
  • Alignment with the core beliefs and mission of Raise Your Hand Texas
  • Familiarity with, and commitment to improving, the Texas K-12 public school system
  • Excellent organizational and computer skills, including Excel and Google suite
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with data analysis
  • Authorized to work in the United States
  • Based in Austin
  • Some paid travel may be requested, depending upon the fellow’s schedule

Compensation

The position is available for up to 20 hours per week, dependent upon the fellow’s schedule, at a rate of $20/hour.
