Summary

The Strategy and Evaluation Fellow is responsible for supporting the Raise Your Hand Texas Foundation’s ongoing learning and evaluation efforts, which are driven by data to ensure Raise Your Hand continuously learns from success, as well as failures, to inform and refine strategy and drive organizational improvements and growth. The Strategy and Evaluation Fellow will support the implementation and measurement of a strategy for learning and evaluation across all departments to maintain alignment with and progress toward the organization’s mission and goals.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Support the implementation of the organization’s strategy for learning and evaluation.
  • Measure key performance indicators across the organization and support timely evaluations of Raise Your Hand programs and strategies, analyzing trends, strengths, and weaknesses.
  • Collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative data and support the development of databases.
  • Provide staff with support in research and analysis of various topics related to K-12 education as requested. Topics may include: federal K-12 policy, teacher Preparation, pre-K, school funding and governance.
  • Provide support on ongoing short- and long-term research projects.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate degree or current graduate student in an education-related field
  • Alignment with the core beliefs and mission of Raise Your Hand Texas
  • Familiarity with, and commitment to improving, the Texas K-12 public school system
  • Nonprofit program management and measurement experience
  • Excellent organizational and computer skills, including Excel and Google suite
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with data analysis, including quantitative and qualitative data
  • Authorized to work in the United States
  • Based in Austin
  • Some paid travel may be requested, depending upon the fellow’s schedule

Compensation

The position is available for up to 20 hours per week, dependent upon the fellow’s schedule, at a rate of $20/hour.
