Lauren Cook

Director of Content

Creating compelling stories about the people and issues at the heart of Texas public schools is the focus of Lauren’s work. Lauren has worked with Raise Your Hand since 2012 and has more than a dozen years of experience in Texas public education policy. Working alongside an amazing team of creative storytellers, Lauren’s role is to manage the development, creation, and promotion of content for Raise Your Hand’s programming and policy initiatives.

Prior to working with Raise Your Hand, Lauren served as the Director of Communications for a school finance think tank and as a Legislative Aide in the Texas Senate. Lauren is a two-time graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a bachelor’s degree in English and a master’s in Spanish. Lauren loves “picking” antiques, sipping hot tea, and receiving hugs from her two young children.
