Regions 9, 16, and 17
An educator for over 35 years, Sandy Whitlow is an Assistant Superintendent for Amarillo ISD, supporting district and campus initiatives, leadership development and school improvement efforts. In her current role, she works in partnership with twelve middle schools. Having served as a principal of an elementary school, a sixth-grade campus and a comprehensive high school, all of which were Title I campuses, Sandy has appreciated the opportunities afforded her to evolve as a leader at various levels. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees at West Texas State University, Canyon, TX.
Sandy is grateful to RYHT for supporting her leadership development through her participation and/or facilitation of HGSE programs: Enhancing Teacher Effectiveness in High Schools, Urban School Leaders, and The Art of Leadership. She serves as the RYHT regional director for Regions 9, 16 and 17.
