Vote Early!

February 17, 2014 |

Hello, my name is Linda and I’m an early voter! Yes, I admit it. I’m an early voter and have been for a very long time. The honest reason why I always vote early is because I’m super paranoid about something happening the day of the election that would keep me from casting my precious vote!

My vote is so important to me because it’s the best way for my voice to be heard by my country, my state, and my community, Corpus Christi. There is no room to complain about ANYTHING if I don’t take the time to cast my vote and be a part of this wonderful democratic process.

With the primary elections (March 4th) just around the corner, every registered voter should make sure to vote. In the 2012 primaries, only 15% of registered voters voted in the primary election! It has been said many times that Texas elections are won in the primaries. We have a chance to impact our world, and it should not be left to 15% of the registered voters.

So vote and if possible, vote early! Why should you vote early?

  • Your vote is too important to leave to chance. You don’t have to worry about life getting in the way and keeping you from voting on Election Day.
  • It is convenient and gives you a break from your busy schedule to vote when and where YOU are able to do so.
  • Early Voting prevents lines on Election Day.
  • Early voting helps protect the right of all eligible voters to vote. Offering the opportunity to early vote makes it possible for all eligible voters to vote.
  • If you vote early, you can then encourage and help others get out to vote on Election Day.

Voting should be free, fair, and accessible because the right to vote is the basis for our democracy.

Thanks America, for giving me the right to vote and the right to vote early!
