Boosting Teacher Satisfaction with Mobile Apps

September 8, 2016 |

Principal Dinnah Escanilla has gained the attention of media in the Dallas area for using existing technology to help solve her teachers’ access to information problem.

“The most common information teachers need to access on a daily basis and in different places are emails, the district website, memos, instructions, documents, forms, the calendar, newsletters, training videos, and meeting agendas,” writes the principal of the Ochoa STEM Academy in Grand Prairie ISD and Raise Your Hand Texas alumna. What can we do as principals, she wondered, to help teachers access that information in a faster, easier, more convenient way?

That’s when Escanilla got busy over the summer vacation, developing a mobile app featuring the school resources her teachers have to access frequently to do their job. Early indications are that the app is helping boost teacher satisfaction.
