In Their Own Words: Jay’s Journey to Harvard

July 13, 2017 |

THIS kind of ingenuity and creativity is what drives us here at Raise Your Hand Texas!

Without provocation, Jay Barrett — public school principal in the Amarillo Independent School District — created a video blog to profile his weeklong experience at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. This summer, Raise Your Hand sponsored Barrett, along with 12 other Texas school leaders, to attend a weeklong institute called Leadership: An Evolving Vision.

We’ve heard from many of our Harvard Principals’ Center alums who use words like “transformational” and “surreal” to describe their experience in Cambridge. But, Barrett is taking expression to a whole new level with this series of short video blogs he has been creating all week. Five so far!

We invite you to check out all the episodes below.
