Key factors to address chronically underperforming schools from the campus, district, and state levels

The Texas House of Representatives Committee on Public Education on Tuesday, April 22 convened a hearing related to turning around chronically low-performing schools in the state.

Raise Your Hand Texas CEO Dr. David Anthony testified in front of the committee, sharing insights gleaned from the organization’s work developing school leaders and from research and meetings with leaders engaged in campus turnaround efforts across the country.

Dr. Anthony’s testimony highlighted the challenges facing Texas, the Texas Education Agency, and school districts and campuses, as well as critical elements in successful school improvement efforts. He also detailed the ranges of support from school districts and the state that merit consideration.
