A Symposium to Remember

February 24, 2017 |

The 2017 Raise Your Hand Texas Campus to Capitol Leadership Symposium was unlike any before with a half-day of optional events (including a design thinking workshop, and dinner and a movie) before the conference officially kicked off.

Hundreds of Raise Your Hand Texas alums gathered at the Renaissance Hotel in scenic northwest Austin for 2 1/2 days of networking and workshopping, research-backed instruction, and student perspective and entertainment, all powered by a theme of “Go Beyond” – a call to Texas school leaders to push past the obstacles that can potentially confound their resolve and hamper success on public school campuses.

During the symposium, we asked our alumni to consider those barriers – like fear, feeling alone, status quo, school walls, rhetoric, etc. – that inhibit innovation and success. We produced a symposium opening video and event banners around the idea of communicating these obstacles with one another using social media “LIVE” platforms. We know you – as school principals – spend lots of time going beyond the basics, and we hoped you felt acknowledged for the work you do, and inspired by all that is possible.

Our 2017 leadership symposium recap page is now up for you to peruse. Relive the event, or, if you missed it, experience going beyond through the images we captured.
