The Raise Your Hand Texas Foundation today announced that Tim Miller, Ed.D., former director of educator preparation and program accountability at the Texas Education Agency, will serve as superintendent in residence at Raise Your Hand. In his new role, Dr. Miller will support Raise Your Hand’s programming, research, and advocacy efforts with a concerted focus on Raising Texas Teachers, a $50 million program initiative that includes a scholarship program and partnerships with Texas Universities to improve teacher preparation across the state. Prior to his joining the Texas Education Agency, Miller served as the Superintendent of the Cleburne Independent School District, located south of Fort Worth and campus and district administrator in North East ISD. He started his career as a special education teacher in San Antonio ISD. “Dr. Miller brings an important perspective on programmatic and policy levers to advance academic achievement in districts across the state,” said Shari Albright, President of the Raise Your Hand Texas Foundation. “His more than 20 years of experience as a former teacher, superintendent, and TEA director give him a unique insight into the opportunities and impacts of proposals for school districts.”
