Teaching: Appreciation Like No Other Profession

May 7, 2019 |

This is Teacher Appreciation Week, a perfect time to introduce our second installment of our “Voices on Teaching” series. This series features diverse perspectives about the importance of the teaching profession and personal stories about teachers who helped give rise to the future.

Rick Rodriguez, an assistant superintendent for human resources at Lubbock ISD, explains why, for teachers, fulfillment isn’t about money, a certificate, or an award. Rather, it’s when a child, the hardest one a teacher has ever taught, comes back and says, “Thanks, you saved my life.”
