Our “Voices on Teaching” series features diverse perspectives about the importance of the teaching profession and personal stories about teachers who helped give rise to the future.
Linda Ascencio, a fourth-grade teacher at Sanchez Elementary school in McAllen ISD, had a student who challenged her throughout the year. Through her efforts, she was able to gain his trust. Now, he is one of the students she misses the most.
