Ari Azimi joined Raise Your Hand Texas during the 88th Legislative session as a government relations fellow. She is a Master of Public Affairs candidate at the LBJ School of Public Affairs where she serves as vice president of the Graduate Public Affairs Council.
Azimi grew up in Spring, Texas and is a proud product of Texas public schools. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Government at The University of Texas at Austin in 2018. After graduating she joined Teach for America and taught Texas history in San Antonio for three years.
Her former students inspire her to advocate on behalf of all Texas public school students and remind her that the future is indeed bright. In her treasured leisure time, Ari likes to read at coffee shops around Austin, make zines, and cross stitch.
