Meg Espey joined Raise Your Hand Texas in January 2023 as a government relations fellow. Meg is a recent graduate from The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Social Work and a Bachelor of Science in Communication and Leadership where she was selected as a Congressman Bill Archer Fellow.
Meg believes in empowering nonprofits to better understand and impact the policymaking process. Prior to Raise Your Hand Texas, Meg worked at the Children’s Advocacy Center Serving Bastrop, Lee, and Fayette Counties, Boys and Girls Club Austin and Communities in Schools Houston. Meg’s legislative experience includes interning in the U.S. House of Representatives and Texas Senate.
Meg is a proud product of Texas public schools and is planning to pursue her Master of Social Work in the fall.
