Maritza Sepulveda serves as the regional advocacy director for West Houston at Raise Your Hand Texas. She joined the organization in 2025 and brings over eight years of experience in community engagement, coalition building, and public service.

Prior to joining Raise Your Hand Texas, she worked with Harris County Precinct 4, leading initiatives such as community surveys, disaster response efforts, laptop giveaways, arts integration programs with HISD, and family-centered events highlighting new community infrastructure. Sepulveda also contributed to the Harris County Clerk’s Office Elections Department, assisting in the administration of elections and ensuring voter access in one of the nation’s largest counties.

Sepulveda also spent two years as a classroom teacher and later worked with BakerRipley, a Texas nonprofit, developing programs that supported education and community development. Her work focused on connecting communities to resources, elevating local voices, and fostering partnerships across sectors to address issues from education equity to immigration support.

A lifelong Houstonian, Sepulveda is a proud parent, devoted to her family, and shares her home with two dogs who keep her on her toes.
