Raise Your Hand Texas’ Community Leaders Fellowship is the premiere program within the organization’s Education Advocacy Academy.

The Raise Your Hand Texas Community Leaders Fellowship is an 18-month program designed to equip teams aligned with local independent school districts with skills to effectively advocate for public education in their own communities.

Each local community’s perspective is critically important to state lawmakers.

The program focuses on building a deep understanding of public education and the legislative processes, while also teaching valuable skills in listening and community engagement.

Evolving the Trustee Advocates Program

The Raise Your Hand Texas Community Leaders Fellowship is the next evolution of our advocacy training, building upon the success of the Trustee Advocates Program. Launched in January 2022, Raise Your Hand Texas’ Trustee Advocates Program included 15 graduates.

The new collaborative model of the Fellowship is unique, creating powerful local teams to support Texas schools. If you are an alumnus of the Trustee Advocate Program, we strongly encourage you to build a team to apply and help lead this deeper, community-based work.
