Jessica Garcia

Jessica Garcia joined Raise Your Hand Texas in August 2023 as a digital communications intern. She is a senior journalism major at The University of Texas at Austin, where she is a part of her campus’ National Association of Hispanic Journalists chapter.

Prior to Raise Your Hand, Jessica was an intern for ATXtoday, Texas Monthly, and The University of Texas System, where she further developed her writing skills and gained experience in social media management and content creation. She also serves as the social media coordinator for a center within Moody College of Communication.

Born and raised in McAllen, Texas, Jessica is a proud product of Texas public schools. She is excited to dive deeper into the communications field with Raise Your Hand and support public education along the way.
