Deanna Barley, M.Ed., serves as the regional advocacy director for West Texas. She joined Raise Your Hand Texas in the summer of 2025. Barley brings over 20 years of experience in education, advocacy, and civic engagement.
Barley has worked in 1-A to 5-A schools as a teacher and instructional coach, serving Region 15 as an education specialist for Secondary English, and taught remote/hybrid courses for contained facilities. She also served as a leader in various state and community groups.
Barley holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Angelo State University and a Master of Education in Teacher Leadership from Lamar University. A native San Angeloan with strong family ties to rural communities, she lives in Brady, Texas, with her husband Trent and their dogs and deer.
