During middle school, Angela observed her teachers closely. She observed how they applied their lesson plans and the way they taught them. The smallest details caught her eye — a teacher’s tone of voice, the small pauses in between words, and everything else. Before she knew it, she was preparing herself to become a teacher.
Angela’s passion for teaching grew when she joined the “Ready, Set, Teach” program. In that group, she interacted with different students, presented lessons, and even got to manage a classroom on her own. In other words, she finally was able to put into action what she observed from her teachers all those years.
When Angela does get a classroom of her own after graduation, she wants to show her students they have important roles in their communities. She also plans to present them with opportunities for critical thinking in the hopes of helping develop independent learners. All in all, she wants to be the teacher her students remember for the rest of their lives.
"A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops."
