C’Sherica’s first-grade teacher made a huge impression on her, and most other students and their parents. Her teacher would invite everyone over to her mom’s house, where each room had different themes and activities. C’Sherica remembers how all the parents knew each other and were involved in supporting the class. That made C’Sherica want to be a teacher.
But then, in college, C’Sherica thought she might go in a different direction, and started out as a fashion major. That only lasted two classes, and when she got a job with the YMCA working with kids, she realized she belonged in a classroom. Her friends and family knew she would return to her dream of teaching. Her mom said, “I was waiting on you to figure that out.” When she told her friends about switching her major to education, they said, “Okay, duh.” To C’Sherica, that felt like pretty solid confirmation she was headed toward her destiny.
"I want them to know that no matter what’s going on in the world, my classroom is a place of positivity, respect, and peace. Each time a student comes to me, they will without a doubt leave a better person."
