“I hope to have an impact on my future students the way my elementary school teachers had on me. I want my students to look back and say, ‘She was the one who believed in me.’”
Elizabeth wants to become a teacher because she sees the need for more bilingual educators in Texas. Elizabeth’s first language is Spanish and, initially, she struggled to learn English in school. She credits great teachers with the success she has found in her education, social, and work life. Elizabeth hopes her students learn that it is okay to fail, but they must always stand back up and keep fighting.
"Know who you are, know it’s enough."
