Jacob Connerly

Hometown: Santa Fe, New Mexico
University: Trinity University
Teaching Interest: Secondary History

Although he did not grow up knowing he would become a teacher, Jacob’s mother’s experience as a educator ultimately provided him with the insight and motivation to lead a classroom. Jacob’s content choice, history, was a much easier decision, as he has always loved the subject.

Jacob is eager to engage students that emerge as confident and capable young adults, and he plans to ensure that students see themselves as curious, active members of  society. On the difference between capable and standout teachers, Jacob believes good teachers instill a love for a subject, great teachers instill a love for learning.

"I think that everybody is a learner and anybody who loves to learn is automatically going to be a happy and successful person. I think that good teachers are what help people to start to love learning."
