Lilia wants everyone to know that it’s never too late to get your degree and chase your dreams. As a single mother, she struggled through school, taking one class at a time, but she never gave up. When Lilia got married, her family grew to include six children and a great support system as well. Her journey to finish school has become her family’s journey. Her kids help her with her math homework and test out her science experiments. She is doubly excited to graduate from college because she and her daughter will be graduating in the same year.
With six kids of her own, Lilia knows that all children are unique and have unique learning needs. She hopes to be the type of teacher her children needed but didn’t always have. She knows her love of teaching will be apparent and inspiring, not only to the students in her classes but to all the students in her school.
"We are making it! We are doing it! Anything is possible." - Lilia Hernandez
