Nicholas “Nico” Champion

Hometown: Leander, Texas
University: Trinity University
Teaching Interest: Theatre

In fifth grade, Nico was chosen to play President Abraham Lincoln and tasked with performing the Gettysburg Address at the Presidents’ Day school assembly. Nico attributes the success of his big moment — no minor feat — to his theatre teacher, Ms. Broadhurst, who recognized his potential and encouraged him to act on it. From this, Nico realized teaching was a profession that could inspire students to recognize their worth and follow their dreams. As a teacher, Nico hopes to foster passionate creativity and equitable collaboration within his students and looks forward to forging meaningful relationships with them through theatre.
