John Jacob “Jay” Moreno serves as art director for Raise Your Hand Texas. He helps shape the organization’s visual story and leads creative campaigns that align with Raise Your Hand’s mission.
Prior to joining Raise Your Hand, Moreno spent three years with the Charles Butt Foundation as a multimedia designer, where he played an integral role in public opinion research, including design for the Texas Teacher Poll and the Texas Education Poll.
Prior to joining the Charles Butt Foundation, Moreno was a senior communications associate at Texans Care for Children, defining the organization’s brand and promoting children’s advocacy efforts in Texas.
Moreno believes in creating lasting social change through systemic policy change; clear, beautiful, emotionally-impactful work; and the power of ‘yes, and…’.
Moreno is a proud husband and father, a so-so drummer, a vintage toy collector, a San Antonio Spurs fan, and a cat lover. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art with a concentration in Transmedia from The University of Texas at Austin.
