Max Rombado

Max serves as the Legislative Director at Raise Your Hand Texas where, in his current role, he supports the development of the organization’s policy priorities, manages the organization’s bill-tracking effort, and works with legislative staff on pro public education legislation. Max has extensive experience in policy research and analysis with an emphasis on teacher workforce, accountability & assessment, school finance, and public school choice. Previously, Max served as the organization’s Policy Research Associate from October of 2018 through September of 2022. Max believes it is his personal mission to leverage policy, research, data, and relationships to leave the world better than he found it.

Max holds a bachelor’s degree in government from the University of Texas at Austin where he was a Congressman Bill Archer Fellow. During his fellowship, Max interned at the Brookings Institution’s Brown Center on Education Policy, contributing to various research projects related to civics curriculum, teacher workforce diversity, school busing, and more. Max is currently enrolled in the Master of Public Affairs program at the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at The University of Texas at Austin.
